Great service, will now be my go to!
Second time using Andrew, got a new car and the dealer sold it to us with dodgy break discs and pads. Within a few hours of messaging Andrew was here repairing what was needed as he had some free time come up. Advised of what he felt needed other work too so will be booking back in for this on arrival of parts. He also ensured he had plenty of photos which was extremely helpful now we are in dispute with the dealer. He will be our go to for when we need stuff doing, fair prices and great service
Fast Reliable Trustworthy Service
My old mechanic no longer covers my area, so I was quite apprehensive about finding someone new. But Andrew has been fantastic. He's incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and very mindful of keeping costs reasonable. The fact that he's mobile is a huge bonus too, saving me the hassle of arranging transport while my car is being worked on. I'll definitely be using him as my go-to mechanic from now on!
Great service
Andrew was very knowledgeable and tried to fix my issue with my car. Unfortunately, he suspected a head gasket issue and this could not be done on the day but he was very thorough in his work and always offered me the cheapest options and gave me very genuine advice.
How Andy works
Most of what goes wrong with a car does not need a garage. It needs someone with the tools and the time to come and look at it where it is parked, and that is the whole idea of Handy Andy Autos. Andy comes to your home or your workplace anywhere within about five miles of Tunbridge Wells, opens the bonnet on your driveway, and does the job there: servicing, brakes, batteries, belts, hoses, diagnostics, most general repairs. If a job needs a ramp or a full day with the engine in pieces he says so before he starts, and he can collect the car and bring it back rather than leave you to sort out getting it somewhere. He takes photographs of the work as he goes, the old parts and the new, and sends them to you, which one customer found useful when the dealer who had sold them a car with worn discs and pads tried to argue about it. And he will tell you when something is not worth doing. One customer's car turned out to have a suspected head gasket problem that could not be fixed on the day; what they remembered afterwards was that he had been thorough, offered the lowest-cost option that would do the job and given honest advice. That is the mechanic you get when you ring the number at the top of this page.
What it costs
There is no price list on this site, and that is deliberate. A brake job on a 2012 Polo and a brake job on a 2021 Kuga are different jobs with different parts, and a number typed into a website before anyone has seen the car is a guess dressed up as a quote. So the deal is simple: you tell us the reg and what you need, Andy rings you, and you get a real price for your car before he sets off. If you would rather just talk, ring 07399 584225 between 8 and 5, Monday to Friday.

Questions people ask
Do you really come to my house?
Yes. Andy is a mobile mechanic: he comes to your home or your workplace anywhere within about five miles of Tunbridge Wells. If a job cannot be done where the car is, he can collect it and bring it back, or you can drop it to him.
How do I get a price?
Tell us the reg and what you need on this page, or ring 07399 584225. Andy rings you back with a price. There is no online price list because every car and every job is different, and he would rather tell you a real number than a guess.
What can be done on a driveway?
More than most people expect: servicing, brakes, batteries, diagnostics, belts, hoses, a lot of general repairs. Some jobs need a ramp or a day with the engine apart, and if yours is one of those Andy will say so rather than start something on your drive that cannot be finished there.
Which areas do you cover?
Tunbridge Wells and a five-mile ring around it: Southborough, Pembury, Tonbridge, Rusthall, Langton Green, High Brooms, Groombridge, Frant, Speldhurst and Bidborough. If you are just outside that, ask.
What are your hours?
8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Do I need to be there?
Not for the whole job. Andy needs the keys and access to the car, and a quick word at the start and the end. Plenty of customers are at work while he does the job on the drive.
